Berlin’s Walk of Fame
Mario Adorf, Bernd Eichinger, Thomas Gottschalk, Michael (Bully) Herbig and Hildegard Knef are just a few of the celebrities represented here on the Boulevard of the Stars.
With its red-coloured asphalt, the median strip of Potsdamer Strasse – between the luxurious Mandala Hotel and the Film Museum – is reminiscent of Hollywood’s red carpet. Like the renowned Walk of Fame in Los Angeles, the Boulevard of the Stars honours prominent German film and television personalities with a star of their own.
The greatest of all German film divas, Marlene Dietrich, was the first. Now, with over 100 bronze-coloured stars, “Berlin’s red carpet” attracts visitors and leaves a lasting impression of the diverse tradition of German film and television history.
