Potsdamer Platz is a new kind of urban centre in Berlin’s dynamic community. An energetic place, attuned to what’s happening now in global and local culture.

Embracing its iconic past while responding to the rhythms of contemporary life; Potsdamer Platz is where much loved local brands meet world-class entertainment and events.

From 2022, 90 stores in six block themed areas, such as food, technology, sport, fashion, lifestyle and entertainment will offer visitors to Potsdamer Platz a unique range of products and numerous new shopping concepts. A complete redevelopment of the interior space and public realm will be complemented by impressive architecture with double and triple-height facades for new emblem stores Mercato Metropolitano, a Sustainable Community Market and Mattel: Mission Play! With more to be announced.

Started in 2020, the old Arkaden has been completely demolished and a new destination is beginning to emerge. Local amenities will remain open throughout.

The reconstruction work will completely transform the mall, giving it a fresh elegance. The construction site itself will offer multimedia experiences – including glimpses of the new shopping paradise. The surrounding stores and restaurants will also be redesigned, giving the quarter as a whole a higher quality feel.

The overall concept for the makeover will make it easy for visitors to orient themselves. The upper levels will be home to international brands, while the basement will house local amenities and service providers. The indoor market will be spread across two levels, the first and second floors.

The project, which is unique in Germany, will make a vivid impression with modern architecture, exceptional interior design, high-quality materials and carefully chosen lighting. Elegance and space will give the customer an open, lavish atmosphere as they shop, creating a unique experience in this glass-roofed mall.
