From 2022, 90 stores in six themed areas, from technology and sport to fashion, lifestyle and entertainment, will offer visitors to Potsdamer Platz Shopping Arkaden a unique range of products and numerous new concepts. Impressive architecture with double and triple-height facades will give glimpses of the new shopping world to people outside. The heart of the fully redesigned mall – and the sixth themed area – is culinary: an indoor market with sustainable products from the surrounding region and around the world, along with modern international restaurant concepts and local offerings, will be created over 5,500 m² on the first and second floor, and will offer variety and pure indulgence to visitors and residents alike. The aim of the repositioning is to create a connection to the site’s history, while offering visitors a varied shopping and leisure experience with an international format.

The refurbishment will begin in 2020, with the local amenities remaining open throughout. The reconstruction work will completely transform the mall, giving it a fresh elegance. The construction site itself will offer multimedia experiences – including glimpses of the new shopping paradise. The surrounding stores and restaurants will also be redesigned, giving the quarter as a whole a higher quality feel.

The overall concept for the makeover will make it easy for visitors to orient themselves. The upper levels will be home to international brands, while the basement will house local amenities and service providers. The indoor market will be spread across two levels, the first and second floors.

The project, which is unique in Germany, will make a vivid impression with modern architecture, exceptional interior design, high-quality materials and carefully chosen lighting. Elegance and space will give the customer an open, lavish atmosphere as they shop, creating a unique experience in this glass-roofed mall.
